Part VI – Ritual of the Snake

from Mind Trip in A Minor by Spiral

lyrics

And his vision goes black
and opens on to a new scene.
A young man pours libations
and calls his ancient name

When he opens his mouth to answer
he can only
lisp and slur
which sends spittle flying.

And each drop of saliva
changes shape
they morph into a host of animals
and surround the young man.

The lion stands for pride.
The owl holds a nightly vigil.
And the wolf delivers death.
But one young man calls the snake.
