You can enter zero for the price to get the album for free. However, before you enter zero for price, think about the bands you like. If you pay for the music you enjoy, you are “voting with your wallet”. You have the opportunity to tell the record companies and the industry what music you would like to hear and what music you think should go on tours. The bands use the monitory contributions from fans to make more of the music you like, go on tour, pay their recording costs, etc. Spiral would like to be one of the bands enough people like to make music full time. If this is your first Spiral album, enter zero, give it a test listen. If you like us, vote for us with your wallet and help us make more music.

SPIRAL presents “Machine” a sci-fi soundtrack to a film that unfortunately, never got made. After the release of “Citizen” and just as we were starting work on our next full length album, an independent film company offered to make a movie that followed the story of “Citizen” but from the Machine’s perspective. SPIRAL jumped at the opportunity and the film company asked us to do the soundtrack. We were given raw footage and test shots from the movie and asked to come up with music that would go with them. Thus began our first journey into the world of soundtracks.

Unfortunately, the movie never got made. Due to unforeseen circumstances the entire idea disintegrated and we were left with a soundtrack and no movie, so we decided to release it! Because this is a soundtrack we were under a time restraint, which means the entire process was different than we were used to. Also, because we weren’t recording a regular album we allowed ourselves to reach out in any direction we wanted, which makes for a very eclectic release. Chris spent most of his time listening to sci-fi soundtracks from the 70’s and 80’s and trying to reproduce a modern sound, that looked back to those glory days of electronic experimentation while Aaron focused on writing some heavy tunes for action sequences.

So here it is, Machine, presented to you with all its scrapes and bruises and hoping for acceptance. While you listen, try to imagine the movie that could’ve been.
